Riboflavin, like the other B-vitamins, is heavily used by the body for converting food into energy. Riboflavin is also used by the body in the process of methylation which, among other things, is used in the replication and regulation of DNA and genetic expression. Vitamin B2 is further used for the metabolism of i ron and vitamins B6 and B12. Finally B2 is important for fully utilizing the antioxidant glutathione.
