Pyridoxine is responsible for hundreds of chemical reactions within the body. It is necessary for the creation of hemoglobin, the part of the red blood cell that allows the cell to carry oxygen. It also powers the synthesis of many neurotransmitters including serotonin, dopamine and histamine. Pyridoxine is also used by the body to help clear high levels of homocysteine from the blood.
