Ornithine is a central part of the urea cycle which is the process in which the kidneys remove toxins from the bloodstream and excrete them via urine. It plays a part in the production of nitric oxide, a vasodilator that helps increase muscular performance. Ornithine also plays a role in reducing fatigue after exercise.
